ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 23. The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan plans to implement eight projects for the construction and reconstruction of group water pipelines, said Minister Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, Trend reports.
As Nurzhigitov noted, within the framework of these projects, it is planned to provide high-quality drinking water to 41 rural settlements, where 22,300 people live.
According to him, 35 of these settlements are located in the North Kazakhstan region, 3 in the Akmola region, and 3 in the Kyzylorda region.
"By 2025, it is planned to build about 1,200 km of group water pipelines to provide high-quality drinking water to 41 rural settlements and improve water supply to 52 rural settlements, in which more than 55,000 people live in total," he added.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan is implementing 34 projects this year in Akmola, Almaty, Atyrau, Ulytau, Kyzylorda, Mangistau, Turkestan, and North Kazakhstan regions.
As part of these activities, work on water supply and renovation of water supply systems will be carried out in 158 settlements.
As a result, more than 450,000 people will have access to quality drinking water. Completion dates are planned for 2024–2025.
In 2021–2022, seven facilities were put into operation as part of the construction and reconstruction of group water pipelines in the Akmola, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Ulytau, and North Kazakhstan regions.
