ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 24. Major road projects in Kazakhstan will be fully completed next year and put into operation, said the country's Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev following a working trip to significant transport infrastructure facilities in the Aktobe, Atyrau and West Kazakhstan regions, Trend reports.
Karabayev noted that, currently in Kazakhstan, 856 km of roads are being put into operation, where reconstruction, major and medium repairs were previously carried out.
In total, according to him, construction and installation work covered 11,000 km this year.
"Several projects are causing great criticism from the population. These are Taldykorgan - Ust-Kamenogorsk, Astana - Almaty, Aktobe - Kandyagash and Atyrau - Astrakhan. I would like to note that this year, passage will be provided along the entire length of these roads. Next year these projects will be fully completed and put into operation," he said.
At the beginning of January of this year, then the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development - now Industry and Construction - reported that in 2023 10,500 km of roads would be built and reconstructed: of which 7,300 km of the republican network, 3,200 km - local.
The budget for projects for the construction, reconstruction and repair of roads of republican significance for this year is 369.2 billion tenge (about $778.7 million):
- for construction and reconstruction - 222.9 billion tenge (about $470.1 million);
- for repair and maintenance - 146.3 billion tenge (about $308.5 million).
