Kazakhstan's Kaztemirtrans discloses volume of transported cargo in 10M2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 1. Kazakhstan's Kaztemirtrans JSC (KTT) has transported 76.4 million tons of cargo by railway cars from its fleet from January through October 2023, a source at the company told Trend.

As the source noted, the main cargoes transported by KTT wagons are coal, construction materials (crushed stone), industrial raw materials, as well as grain, etc.

In addition, the source noted that Kaztemirtrans JSC plans to purchase 3,000 railway freight cars by the end of 2025

KTT is gradually renewing its fleet of railway freight cars. Over the past decade, more than 25,000 railcars have been purchased.

On November 6, KTT purchased 50 new locally produced open wagons. The new wagons were manufactured by the Kazakhstan Carriage Manufacturing Company in Ekibastuz. The railway freight cars' carrying capacity is 70 tons. Open wagons have a certificate of conformity to the Customs Union standard.

Kaztemirtrans JSC is the largest operator of the railway freight car fleet of Kazakhstan. The own fleet of railway cars of Kaztemirtrans JSC is about 38,000 units.

The company's activities cover such areas as providing railway freight cars for operation and leasing special rolling stock. The main share of cargo transported in the railway cars of Kaztemirtrans JSC is mostly bulk cargo, such as coal, crushed stone.
