ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 27. Hyundai became the most popular car brand among vehicles produced in Kazakhstan from January through November 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Kazakhstan Automobile Union, during the above period, 45,306 units of Hyundai passenger cars were produced.
The second most popular was Chevrolet (36,959 units), third was Kia (22,868 units), fourth was Jac (17,069 units) and fifth was Jetour (3,661 units).
By model, the most produced in 2023 were the Chevrolet Cobalt (23,198 units), Hyundai Tucson (13,660 units), Jac J7 (11,483 units), Kia Sportage (10,180 units) and Hyundai Santa Fe (7,632 units).
In addition, regionally, based on the results of eleven months of 2023, 82,854 units of vehicles were produced in Kostanay (an increase of 38 percent), 46,159 units (an increase of 35 percent) of passenger cars and commercial vehicles were produced in Almaty, 3,876 units of commercial vehicles (an increase of 64.3 percent) - in Semey, 1,405 units of equipment (an increase of 229 percent) - in the Karaganda region, 1,200 units of commercial equipment (an increase of 4.1 percent) - in Kokshetau.
Meanwhile, 12,961 units of vehicles were produced in Kazakhstan in November 2023. This is 15.6 percent more than the same period in 2022 (11,216 units and 132.2 billion tenge, or about $287 million).
In total, based on the results of eleven months, 136,909 units of vehicles of all types were produced in Kazakhstan worth over 1.65 trillion tenge (about $3.6 billion), which is 37.4 percent more than in the same period in 2022.
The Kazakhstan Automobile Union includes the Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the Association of Automotive Component Manufacturers, the Association of Public Transport, the Association of Importers, the Association of Dealers, the Association for the Sale of Used Cars, and the Association of Automotive Experts and Auditors (conformity assessment of automotive products).
