ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 26. KazMunayGas JSC's (KMG, Kazakhstan national oil and gas company) oil refineries have ensured the effective implementation of production plans in 2023, Trend reports.

This was stated during a meeting on the operational results of KMG's oil refineries for 2023 and plans for 2024.

Thus, in 2023, a record output of light petroleum products of 72.2 percent and a refining depth of 85.5 percent were achieved. Compared to 2022, the production of RON-92 gasoline increased by 5 percent, RON-95/98 by 17 percent, and liquefied petroleum gas by 8 percent.

As the head of KMG, Magzum Mirzagaliyev said during the meeting, at the end of the year, targets for the production of socially significant petroleum products were exceeded. This was achieved, including through the reorientation of the Atyrau Oil Refinery to gasoline production.

According to him, in the coming period, it is first necessary to focus on the production of socially important fuels and lubricants, bitumen, and petrochemical products (benzene and paraxylene).

"The work plan for 2024 for our refineries is even more intense. The key objectives of the enterprises are to expand production capacity and product range, ensure reliable energy supply, and implement environmental projects," Mirzagaliyev added.
