Kazakhstan boosts fuel production in 2M2024

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 19. The volume of gasoline production in Kazakhstan amounted to 899,800 tons from January through February 2024, which is 3.1 percent more than in the same period in 2023, Trend reports, citing the Energyprom monitoring agency.

At the same time, production of diesel fuel during the above period increased by 5.8 percent and amounted to 857,200 tons.

Regionally, the most gasoline was produced in Shymkent (Shymkent Oil Refinery) - 363,700 tons, a decrease of 1.5 percent for the year. In the Pavlodar region (Pavlodar Oil Refinery), the output amounted to 273,800 tons, in the Atyrau region (Atyrau Oil Refinery) - 251,400 tons.

In addition, the Pavlodar region leads in the production of diesel fuel - 337,600 tons - 16.7 percent more than a year earlier. Production of diesel fuel in Shymkent amounted to 246,900 tons; in the Atyrau region, - 238,400 tons.

At the end of January 2024, the oil refineries in Kazakhstan provided the country with gasoline at 99.99 percent and diesel fuel at 98.3 percent.

Moreover, sales of gasoline in the country decreased by 7.5 percent to 457,100 tons, while sales of diesel fuel, on the contrary, increased by 9.6 percent to 454,600 tons.

Earlier, it became known that Kazakhstan plans to increase fuel prices for foreign citizens. Thus, for citizens of foreign countries, the price of RON-92 and RON-93 gasoline will be set at 245 tenge ($0.54) per liter.

Moreover, the price of diesel fuel (summer or off-season) for foreign citizens will be 315 tenge ($0.69) per liter.
