ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 20. More than 33,000 vehicles were produced in Kazakhstan from January through March 2024, Trend reports.
According to the Kazakhstan Automobile Union, in the three months of 2024, 33,021 vehicles were produced, with a total cost of 420.9 billion tenge ($945 million), against 31,766 units and 368.8 billion tenge (about $828 million) for the same period in 2023.
The main share of production falls on passenger cars – 30,696 units (an increase of 6.7 percent). In addition, in the first quarter, 1,356 units of trucks (a decrease of 42.3 percent), 633 buses (an increase of 58.6 percent), 206 units of trailers and semi-trailers, and 130 units of other special equipment were produced.
Moreover, the share of the automotive industry in mechanical engineering is 43 percent.
The Kazakhstan Automobile Union includes the Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the Association of Automotive Component Manufacturers, the Association of Public Transport, the Association of Importers, the Association of Dealers, the Association for the Sale of Used Cars, and the Association of Automotive Experts and Auditors (conformity assessment of automotive products).
