BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. Kyrgyzstan has requested assistance from Turkey to promote Batken apricot exports, Trend reports citing the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan.
The ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, discussed prospects of assisting in the promotion of the Batken apricot with the mayor of Malatya, Selahattin Gyurkan.
“Especially given the fact that about 70 percent of the production of Turkish apricots, which ranks second in the world in the export of apricots, is concentrated in the Malatya region, the ambassador requested to provide practical assistance with new technologies for growing and processing fruits, as well as to assist in Batken apricots export promotion”, the message says.
Omuraliev also expressed gratitude to the mayor of Malatya for the assistance provided to ethnic Kyrgyz living in the city, and taking into account that recently the number of citizens of Kyrgyzstan arriving for work and education has been increasing, he asked for assistance in their settlement.
