BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25. The Government of Japan will allocate a $7.6-million grant to prevent the Bishkek-Osh road from freezing, MP of the Kyrgyzstan's Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament), Dastan Bekeshev wrote on Facebook, Trend reports.
According to him, the allocated funds will be used to protect 10 kilometers of the road from sleet and snow during winter.
"The money will be directed to protect the section from km 125 to km 129 of the road near the Too-Ashuu pass and from km 216 to km 222 of the road near the Ala-Bel pass of the Bishkek-Osh' highway," Bekeshev said.
Bekeshev also expressed gratitude to the Japanese side for providing the essential support for enhancing road safety in Kyrgyzstan.
