BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. Kyrgyzstan revealed the total volume of foreign direct investments in tourism sector in 2021, Trend reports citing Kyrgyzstan's National Statistical Committee
According to the statistical data, a total of $44 million of foreign direct investments was attracted to the Kyrgyzstan's tourism sector in 2021.
"Kyrgyzstan's tourism industry attracted 4.4 percent of the total volume of foreign direct investments. The bulk of foreign direct investments came from the Netherlands - 79.2 percent, Russia - 7.1 percent, the US - 6 percent, and Switzerland - 4.8 percent," the Committee said.
Meanwhile, the total number of tourists in 2021 amounted to 1.3 million people, which is almost a threefold increase compared to 2020.
