BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. Kyrgyzstan's cotton exports to Türkiye significantly increased in the first half of 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to statistics, Kyrgyzstan from January through June 2022 exported cotton to Türkiye for $22.5 million, which is almost a twofold increase compared to the same period of last year ($11.8 million).

Kyrgyzstan also exported cotton to Iran in the amount of $2.8 million, Russia ($1.1 million), Uzbekistan ($706,500), the UAE ($400,300), and to Latvia ($260,900)

Thus, the total income of Kyrgyzstan from cotton exports in the reporting period amounted to $27.9 million, which is almost twice as much as the same period of 2021 ($14.6 million)

Overall, the export of goods from Kyrgyzstan in the first half of this year amounted to $947.9 million, which is a decrease of 40.5 percent compared to the same period of last year ($1.5 billion).
