BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 6. A joint Kyrgyz-Uzbek venture for reservoir management will be created, wrote Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov on his Facebook page, Trend reports.

According to him, the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will jointly manage the Kempir-Abad (Andijan) reservoir on the border of the two countries.

"Kempir-Abad was previously fully controlled by the Uzbek side, but now we have agreed that we will create a joint venture with 50/50 shares and will jointly manage the dam,” Japarov wrote.

Notably, the Kempir-Abad reservoir, which was built in 1983, is located on the borders of the Andijan region of Uzbekistan and the Osh and Jalal-Abad regions of Kyrgyzstan.
