BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. The Deputy Director General of Kyrgyzstan's Electric Stations OJSC Salavat Sadyrakunov has shared today data on the contract value for coal supplies from Kazakhstan, Trend reports with reference to tazabek.kg.
According to him, the value of the contract for the import of 400,000 tons of Kazakh coal grade D to Kyrgyzstan is $21.3 million.
The contract for the supply of coal between the Kyrgyz Electric Stations and Karazhyra JSC Kazakhstan was concluded in October this year.
The supply of coal was made at a price of $53.45 per ton and is for the period from November 2022 through May 2023.
Remarkably, Karazhyra is a Kazakhstan-based company, which is engaged in the exploration, mining and processing of coal. The main coal deposit is located 135 kilometers southwest of the city of Semey. The company annually extracts and sells more than 7 million tons of coal.
