BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan has published the latest information on the volume of exports of agricultural products this year, Trend reports citing the ministry's Facebook page.

According to the Ministry, in 9 months of 2022, Kyrgyzstan exported agricultural products for 26.9 billion soms ($318.6 million).

From January through September 2022, a total of 22,530 tons of potatoes were exported from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Georgia.

In addition, 9210 tons of cabbage were exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia and 7370 tons of apples to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Belarus.

Agriculture is the backbone of Kyrgyzstan’s rural economy. It employs about 40 percent of the country’s labor force and accounts for about 20 percent of the gross domestic product.
