Kyrgyzstan registers significant increase in imports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 14. The value of imports by Kyrgyzstan increased by 72.5 percent in 2022, according to preliminary report of the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports with reference to Kyrgyz media.

During the reporting period, Kyrgyzstan imported goods worth $9.6 billion, which is a significant increase from $5.5 billion in 2021.

From January through November 2022 imports of goods from the country increased by 1.7 times over the same period 2021 - up to $8.5 billion.

At the same time, the exports of goods from Kyrgyzstan decreased by 21.5 percent in 2022, from $2.7 billion in 2021 to $2.1 billion last year.

In the period from January through November 2022, the value of Kyrgyzstan's exports was registered at $2 billion, decreasing by 22.4 percent over the same period in 2021.

According to preliminary data of the country’s State Statistic Committee, the total value of foreign and mutual trade of Kyrgyzstan reached $11.8 billion from January through December 2022, while in 2021 this figure was $8.3 billion.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade amounted to $10.5 billion in 11 months of 2022, which is an increase of 40.4 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
