BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. Türkiye led among the countries investing in Kyrgyzstan in 2022, accounting for 30.7 percent of total investment inflow in the country, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

Türkiye invested in Kyrgyzstan $321.1 million last year, which is $83.2 million more than in 2021 ($237.9 million).

Investments from Türkiye were mainly directed towards enterprises engaged in the extraction of minerals, manufacturing (primarily in the production of food products, including beverages, rubber, and plastic products), wholesale and retail trade, financial intermediation and insurance, as well as real estate transactions.

The main donor countries to Kyrgyzstan besides Türkiye last year were China (26.3 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s investment inflow), the Netherlands (5.9 percent), and the United Kingdom (2.8 percent).

The inflow of foreign direct investments to Kyrgyzstan exceeded $1 billion in 2022, which is an increase of 4 percent compared to 2021.

The main volume of foreign direct investments, more than 95 percent, were aimed at the development of enterprises in mining, manufacturing, financial intermediation and insurance, wholesale and retail trade, as well as information and communications.
