Kyrgyzstan allocates $68M for road projects

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. Over 6 billion soms ($68.6 million) have been allocated from the budget of Kyrgyzstan for implementation of road projects in the country, in 2023, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Bakyt Torobaev said, Trend reports.

Torobaev made the remark while speaking at the ceremony of transferring new specialized vehicles and machinery to the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan.

"By the end of the year, it is planned to build and repair 855 kilometers of roads in the country. Of them, 587 kilometers will be covered with asphalt, 178 kilometers with surface treatment and 90 kilometers with gravel coating," he said.

Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan plans to acquire a total of 669 special vehicles and machinery for the country’s road industry from the national budget in 2023. The initial delivery of 84 vehicles has been made on June 20, and the remaining equipment is planned to be delivered shortly.

This machinery comprises advanced dump trucks, graders, concrete mixers, water and bitumen transportation vehicles, tractors, bulldozers, excavators, fuel tankers, asphalt pavers, and other.
