BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 5. The inflow of direct investments in Kyrgyzstan from Russia amounted to $87.255 million from January through June 2023, which is 12.9 percent less than in the same period of 2022, Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan shows that Russia contributed 20.3 percent of the total inflow in Kyrgyzstan, making it the second-largest investor in the country from January through June 2023, surpassed only by China ($102.312 million or 23.8 percent).
Russian companies continue to show interest in investing in Kyrgyzstan. For example, a delegation from the Russian "Titan" group of companies in early October visited oil refineries in the Chuy region to explore opportunities for investment collaboration in Kyrgyzstan's oil refining industry.
In June 2023 Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan, Nuradil Bayasov, said that there were more than 380 enterprises in Kyrgyzstan with Russian capital.
In total, Kyrgyzstan received $132.227 million in direct investments from CIS countries from January through June 2023, accounting for 30.8 percent of the overall inflow of foreign direct investments into the country.
The inflow of foreign direct investments into Kyrgyzstan amounted to $429 million from January through June 2023, which is a 31.7-percent decrease compared to the same period in 2022.
