Kyrgyzstan shares details on exports of copper ores and concentrates

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 6. Kyrgyzstan exported 15,580 tons of copper ores and concentrates totaling $25.536 million from January through October 2023, Trend reports.

Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee indicates that during the same period in 2022, Kyrgyzstan did not export any copper ores or concentrates.

In the January–October 2023 timeframe, Kyrgyzstan exported 9,621 tons of copper ores and concentrates to China valued at $15.394 million, and to Uzbekistan, 5,959 tons were exported, totaling $10.142 million.

Kyrgyzstan did not import any copper ores or concentrates during the 10 months of 2023.

The value of production in the mineral extraction industry of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 49.593 billion soms ($556 million) from January through November 2023, which is an increase of 16 percent year-on-year. The volume increased by 3.5 percent year-on-year.

Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover reached $12.297 billion from January through October 2023, which is a 24.9 percent increase compared to $9.845 billion in the same period of 2022.

Exports from Kyrgyzstan totaled $2.443 billion during the 10 months, marking a 29.6 percent increase compared to $1.885 billion recorded from January through October 2022. Imports into Kyrgyzstan amounted to $9.854 billion during this period, up by 23.8 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($7.959 billion).
