A five-day primary training course for law enforcement officers of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan concluded at the Drug Control Agency (DCA) under the President of Tajikistan in Dushanbe yesterday, Asia-Plus reported referring to the DCA press center.

Organized by the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia, the training was part of the project, Fight against Afghan Opiate Trafficking via the Northern Route through Strengthening of Capacities of the Main Border-Crossing Checkpoints and Creation of Border Interaction Offices.

The main objective of the training was in raising professional skills of law enforcement officers and instructing border interaction officers in methods of the fight against drug trafficking.

The abovementioned project provides for creation of two twin border interaction offices -- Fatehabad-Oybek and Dousti-Sariosiyo - for combating drug trafficking through the Northern Route.
