DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 22. More than 9,000 chicks were exported from the Russian city of Yekaterinburg to Tajikistan on February 16, Trend reports.

According to the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor), a large poultry enterprise in the Sverdlovsk region, listed in the Registry of the Customs Union (CU) of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), was responsible for the exports.

In 2024, this poultry farm is exporting chicks for the fourth time, twice to Uzbekistan and twice to Tajikistan. A total of 40,800 chicks have already been sent to these countries.

It was noted that the breed sent to Tajikistan is considered one of the most productive crossbreeds of laying hens. Their egg-laying and egg weight significantly exceed other types of chickens. The birds do not require special care or specific feed, which is also considered one of their key advantages.

Meanwhile, during a recent meeting between the Presidents of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, it was highlighted that bilateral trade volume in 2023 increased by 2.5 percent, reaching $1.8 billion. Russia maintained its leadership in Tajikistan's overall foreign trade volume.
