President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Israeli Ambassador Yitzhak Carmel Kagan, who delivered his credentials, the government of Turkmenistan said August 18.

The views on the current state and cooperation prospects were exchanged both in bilateral and multilateral formats through the major international organizations.

President Berdimuhamedov and Ambassador Kagan expressed mutual interest of both countries in intensifying the cooperation.

The prospects of cooperation in agriculture and irrigation were also discussed.

In this regard, the ambassador stressed that Israel has rich experience and interesting developments in these areas. It is ready to share this experience and know-how in the field of purification, desalination and rational use of water resources with Turkmenistan.

At the time, Israel has taken an active part in the reconstruction of the oil refinery in Caspian Turkmenbashi. This is the largest oil refinery in Turkmenistan. Israeli companies were also involved in the agricultural sector of the country.
