Turkmenistan began export of high-quality yarn produced by a cotton spinning factory in Kunya-Urgench district (Dashoguz province) to China this year, Trend reports citing Turkmenistan's Golden Age online newspaper.
The yarn of the factory is traditionally in demand in a number of European and some Arab countries.
“Every year, in accordance with contracts made at the commodity exchange, the factory exports nearly 70 percent of its cotton yarn abroad,” the media outlet said. “This is facilitated by the high quality of products manufactured by Turkmenistan and the stable fulfillment of its contractual obligations by the factory's collective, which is especially appreciated on the world textile market.”
Processing of the raw cotton of medium staple varieties grown in Turkmenistan also involves a cotton-spinning mill, commissioned in Dashoguz city in 2010, which can annually process over 16,600 tons of cotton fiber and produce 14,500 tons of high-quality Ring-brand cotton yarn of various colors especially demanded in the world market, as well as the "Serdar" cotton-spinning factory, specializing in the production of rotor-spinning yarn.
