BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5. Turkmenistan has published data on acreage in Lebap region, Trend reports with reference to Jeyhun News.

A total of 5,600 hectares have been allocated for potatoes, vegetables and melons this year in the Lebap region for spring varieties. Furthermore, in the Sayat district, 700 hectares of land were allocated for their planting, and 1,100 hectares for autumn varieties of these crops.

At the same time, potatoes occupy 200 hectares of land, from which it is planned to receive 140 quintals of harvest from each hectare.

Agriculture in Turkmenistan is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, vegetables, melons and fruits.
