Uzbekistan's prosecutor agencies reveal violations of entrepreneurs' rights

In first half of this year, the prosecutor agencies of Uzbekistan revealed about 850 violations of laws in the sphere of ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of entrepreneurs, department chief of the Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan Gyulnoza Rahimova said in an article published in Pravda Vostoka newspaper.

The article says that the prosecutor agencies had made 348 representations on the subject of eliminating the causes and conditions which led to the violations of the law, as well as 414 protesters on the facts contrary to legal requirements. More than 1,000 officers have received warnings about inadmissibility of violating law, and about 600 people were made answerable in a disciplinary or administrative manner.

In addition, disciplinary and administrative penalties were made for officers of banking institutions for making red tape in 41 cases while considering applications of entrepreneurs for a loan or a failure to address this issue.

Also more than 60 criminal cases have been filed over facts of bribery, appropriation of others' property, forgery and other abuses against entrepreneurs.

Over the six months of this year, more than 2,000 meetings have been conducted with more than 161,000 businesses in which most of the issues raised by them were resolved immediately and a real assistance was made in the resumption of the inactive businesses.
About 14,500 events have been conducted to increase legal awareness of entrepreneurs, as well as explain their rights and interests in 2011.
