EU Special Representative to visit Uzbekistan

Delegation of the European Union, led by the EU Special Representative for Central Asia, Patricia Flor will visit Tashkent on March 18-19, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.

Delegation of the European Union, led by the EU Special Representative for Central Asia, Patricia Flor will visit Tashkent on March 18-19, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.

During the visit the sides will discuss topical issues of bilateral relations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management of the Republic.

The EU Council has appointed Patricia Flor as special representative for Central Asia on June 25, 2012. Flor became as EU Special Representative on the July 1, and at the end of July she visited Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the sides discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU in bilateral and interregional formats.

Relations of Uzbekistan with the European states is developing at the bilateral level and within the framework of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) between the Republic and the European Communities and their states-members, which entered into force on July 1, 1999.

Dialogue between Uzbekistan and the European Union is in framework of the five joint bodies: the Cooperation Council, the Cooperation Committee, the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, the Subcommittee on Trade and Investment, Subcommittee on Justice, internal affairs and other related issues.
