Uzkhimprom head dismissed

The Chairman of the Uzkhimprom (Uzkimesanoat) State Joint-Stock Company Hamid Shermatov has been dismissed, a source in government circles told Trend on March 25.

The Chairman of the Uzkhimprom (Uzkimesanoat) State Joint-Stock Company Hamid Shermatov has been dismissed, a source in government circles told Trend on March 25.

The decision on Shermatov`s dismissal was taken by the Supervisory Board of the company and approved by the government of the republic, according to the source. However, the source did not disclose the reasons on which the decision has been taken. Shermatov worked as the head of Uzkhimprom from August 2010.

By another decision of the Supervisory Board, Normat Ibragimov who served as deputy chairman of the company was appointed as Acting Board Chairman of the Uzhimprom SJC. Ibragimov, 52 is a graduate of the Ferghana Polytechnic Institute.

Uzhimprom SJC was established in 2001. The company brings together 14 industrial enterprises and 13 regional distribution organisations involved in the sale of mineral fertilisers to agriculture, scientific research and design institutes, foreign freight forwarding organisation Himtrans and Himtrans Logistics as well as the Hamkor-KHIMSERVIS brokerage company.

Uzhimprom SJC occupies a leading position in Central Asia on the volume and types of manufactured mineral nitrogen and phosphate fertilisers, being the largest producer of ammonia, urea, ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulphate, monoammonium phosphate and nitrofosa.

Production capacities are able to satisfy all the domestic demand of Uzbekistan in chemical products, as well as to export. Uzkhimprom enterprises produce more than 170 chemical products.
