Uzbekistan increased the export of medicines almost four times, Trend reports with reference to the press service of State Statistic Committee in Uzbekistan.

From January through September 2020, Uzbekistan exported medicine worth $11.5 million to 11 countries, which is four times more compared to the same period last year.

Uzbekistan sold pharmaceutical products to 11 states. The largest volumes of supplies were carried out to Kyrgyzstan ($3.4 million), Kazakhstan ($2.1 million), Afghanistan ($1.5 million), Turkmenistan ($1.2 million), Tajikistan ($1.1 million), and Turkey (almost $1 million).

Along with the growth of exports, Uzbekistan slightly reduced the import of medicines from other countries. The decline was only 1.2 percent, from $572 million last year to $565.2 million this year which is 6.8 million less.

The largest total of deliveries came from India. This year, Uzbekistan purchased drugs from India for about $103 million, from Russia - $59.9 million, Ukraine - $46.1 million, Latvia - $46 million, China - $34.1 million.
