Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan define specific measures to develop cross-border interaction

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan defined specific measures for the development of cross-border interaction, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

The mentioned issue was discussed during the meeting on the Uzbek-Kazakh border, on the territory of the Gisht-Kuprik customs checkpoint, held between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov, and Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov.

The sides stressed their mutual readiness to further strengthen the multifaceted cooperation of the two countries. They discussed the implementation of the road map to expand and deepen cooperation between the countries, agreed in November last year in Tashkent.

In addition, the parties have identified mechanisms to enhance the interaction of relevant ministries, departments, and entrepreneurs of the two countries to promote approved events and projects.

Also, the ministers discussed joint measures to increase the volume of mutual trade, in particular, specific measures to develop cross-border interaction and the course of the elaboration of a project to create an International Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation "Central Asia" (ICTEC).

As a result of the negotiations, the parties came to an agreement to accelerate the implementation of this project and also outlined further joint actions to address topical issues of bilateral investment and trade and economic cooperation.
