Uzbekistan to supply mineral fertilizers to Kyrgyzstan

Uzbekistan has signed a contract for the supply of 120,000 tons of mineral fertilizers to Kyrgyzstan for $25 million, Trend reports with reference to Uzkimyosanoat.

It is reported that the contract was signed during the visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov to Uzbekistan. It was noted that the document was signed by Uzkimyosanoat JSC and the Kyrgyz Association of Fertilizer Suppliers.

According to the information, the fertilizer supplies from Uzbekistan will be carried out for two years and will be completed by the end of 2022.

In addition, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding on organizing the production of agromineral and bioorganic fertilizers using the existing mineral resources of the two countries. The total cost of this project is estimated at $1.5 million.

Earlier the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan reported that the largest volume of pharmaceutical products exported to Kyrgyzstan in 2020 accounted for Uzbekistan, amounting to 2,752 tons.

According to the agency, to date 207 enterprises in Uzbekistan produce 3,542 types of medicines and medical products.

“More than 20 manufacturers of these enterprises export 64 types of medical devices and 154 types of medicines to Kyrgyzstan,” the agency said.
