The foreign trade turnover (FTT) of Uzbekistan for 2M2020 reached $4.5 billion, decreasing by $1.4 million (23.8 percent). Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the committee, of the total volume of the FTT, exports amounted to $1.5 (a 43.2 percent decrease was noted against 2M2020), and imports - $3 million (8.3 percent). As a result, the balance of FTT amounted to a passive balance in the amount of $1.5 million.
It is reported that among the 20 large partner countries in foreign economic activity, there was also an active foreign trade balance with six countries, in particular with such countries as Afghanistan ($107.3 million), Kyrgyzstan ($64 million), Tajikistan ($45.7 million), Canada ($41.9 million), Turkey ($26.1 million) and Iran ($6.9 million). The remaining 14 countries maintain a passive balance of FTT.
To date, Uzbekistan carries out trade relations with 119 countries of the world. The largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded with China (20.1 percent), Russia (18.7 percent), Kazakhstan (13.0 percent), Turkey (8.9 percent), the South Korea (3.9 percent), Kyrgyzstan (2.6 percent) and Afghanistan (2.4 percent).
In the structure of the republic's FTT, a significant share during the reported period was noted in Tashkent, amounting to $1.9 or 42.2 percent. In this structure, the smallest share was recorded at the level of 1.1 percent, or $50.7 million in Kashkadarya region.
It is also noted that one third of the FTT volume in Uzbekistan falls on the CIS countries and, in recent years, this indicator has changed significantly.
Thus, the share of foreign trade turnover of the CIS countries, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 9.5 percent. For the same period of 2019, an increase was noted by 10.9 percent and their share in FTT, according to the results of 2M2021, amounted to 41.6 percent.
It is reported that the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan with the CIS countries reached $1.8 billion. Of these, the volume of exports amounted to $601.1 million, and the volume of imports - $1.3 million.
The largest volume of FTT with the CIS countries was recorded with Russia (44.9 percent), Kazakhstan (31.2 percent), Kyrgyzstan (6.3 percent), Ukraine (4.4 percent) and Turkmenistan (3.7 percent).
