Goods worth 1.8 billion soums ($171,336) were sold on all trading platforms of the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX) for the period from April 25 to May 2, which is 10.7 percent less than last week, Trend reports referring to UZEX.
According to UZEX, the total volume of transactions involving small businesses and private entrepreneurship amounted to 770.5 billion soums ($73.3 million). As a result of electronic auctions for public procurement, the total savings of budgetary and corporate customers amounted to 35.5 billion soums ($3.4 million).
It is reported that during the reporting period commodity resources worth 1.548 billion soums ($147,349) were sold at open exchange auctions.
Last week, 8,047 tons of cottonseed oil were exposed, of which 6,902 tons, or 85.8 percent, were sold. An average of 130 buyers took part in the exchange trades every day.
It is noted that the daily average price for all varieties of cottonseed oil during the period under review decreased from 15,004 soums ($1.43) to 17,228 soums ($1.64) per ton, or by two percent. By the end of the week, the weekly quotation of the first grade of cottonseed oil amounted to 16,310 soums ($1.55) per ton.
Last week, a decline in prices for sugar was observed on the exchange market. During the past week, 13,650 tons of sugar was put up for sale, of which the entire volume was sold – 100 percent. At the same time, an average of 123 buyers took part in the exchange auctions daily, which is 27.3 percent more than in the previous week.
Against this background, during the period under review, the daily average price for sugar of all categories decreased from 7,675 soums ($0.74) to 7,399 soums ($0.7), that is, by 3.6 percent per ton. As a result of exchange trading, the weekly weighted average price for local sugar of the third category amounted to 7,521 soums ($0.72) per ton.
In addition, during the past week, 258,535 tons of cement were put up for sale, of which 2258,981 tons, or 87.4 percent, were sold. The daily volume of cement sales averaged 45,200 tons.
During the period under review, the daily average price for cement of all categories almost slightly decreased from 575,400 soums ($54.77) to 569,800 soums ($54.24), or by 1.3 percent per ton.
