Volume of loans issued to individuals in Uzbekistan increases in 9M2021

The volume of loans issued to individuals in Uzbekistan increased from January through September 2021 by 27.8 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing the Uzbek Central Bank.

Thus, this figure from January through September 2021 amounted to 65.7 trillion soums ($6.1 billion), and in the same period of 2020 amounted to 51.4 trillion soums ($4.7 billion).

At the same time, the volume of loans issued to legal entities from January through September 2021 amounted to 245.7 trillion soums ($22.8 billion), which is 17.4 percent more compared to the same period last year (209.2 trillion soums or $19.4 billion).

For nine months of 2021, the volume of loans issued to legal entities in Uzbekistan exceeded the volume of loans issued to individuals by 3.7 times.

In general, the total volume of all loans issued by banks of Uzbekistan from January through September 2021 amounted to 311.5 trillion soums ($29 billion).
