BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. Regulatory capital of the banks of Uzbekistan amounted to 74.4 trillion soums ($6.5 billion) as of March 1, 2022, which is an increase of 26.1 percent compared to the same period last year (58.9 trillion soums or $5.1 billion), Trend reports referring to the Uzbek Central Bank.
During this period, the capital of the first tier accounted for 65.7 trillion soums ($5.7 billion), which is an increase of 24.7 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (52.7 trillion soums, or $4.6 billion).
The capital of the second tier as of March 1, 2022 increased by 38.2 percent and reached 8.6 trillion soums ($757.2 million). As of March 1, 2021 his indicator amounted to 6.2 trillion soums ($547.8 million).
At the same time, the capital of first-tier accounted for 89.4 percent of the total regulatory capital, and second-tier accounted for 10.6 percent.
