BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Uzbekistan has exported 4,900 tons of pomegranates in the amount of $5.4 million from January through February 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
The export of pomegranate increased by 1,500 tons compared to the corresponding period last year.
The biggest amount of pomegranate was exported from the country’s Kashkadarya region, which amounted to 998 tons, followed by the Surkhandarya region (823 tons), Tashkent region (767 tons) is in the third place, Fergana region (661 tons) comes next.
During this period, most of the pomegranates was exported to Russia in the amount of 2,500 tons, followed by Kazakhstan (1,700 tons), Tajikistan (492 tons), and Kyrgyzstan (239 tons).
