BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. The value of construction work carried out in Uzbekistan from January through May 2022 amounted to 45.7 trillion soums ($4.2 billion), which is an increase of 22.6 percent compared to the same period of the last year (37.3 trillion soums, or $3.4 billion), Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
During this period, most of the construction work was carried out in the country’s Tashkent city for a total of 12.4 trillion soums ($1.1 billion), followed by the Tashkent region for a total of 3.7 trillion soums ($339.6 million).
In 2021, construction work worth 107.4 trillion soums ($9.9 billion) was carried out in Uzbekistan. At the same time, the value of construction work carried out in 2020 amounted to 88.1 trillion soums ($8.1 billion).
