BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Uzbekistan has received money from Afghanistan for electricity debts, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Energy.

"Afghanistan has no debt for electricity supplies from Uzbekistan in 2021. In total, 2.1 billion kWh of electricity was supplied to Afghanistan last year, for which the electricity company Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat has fully paid off," the Ministry said.

According to the Ministry, the above-mentioned Afghan company on a regular basis presently pays for the electricity imported from Uzbekistan this year.

Meanwhile, on April 14, 2022, Afghanistan stopped buying electricity from Uzbekistan, due to the connection to the energy system of Tajikistan in the summer season.
