BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. The value of construction work carried out in Uzbekistan from January through August 2022 amounted to 81.6 trillion soums ($7.5 billion), which is an increase of 22.1 percent compared to the same period of the last year (66.8 trillion soums, or $6.1 billion), Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
During this period, most of the construction work was carried out in the country’s Tashkent city for a total of 20 trillion soums ($1.8 billion), followed by the Tashkent region for a total of 7 trillion soums ($648.8 million), Samarkand region (5.4 trillion soums, or $499.6 million).
In 2021, construction work worth 107.4 trillion soums ($9.9 billion) was carried out in Uzbekistan. At the same time, the value of construction work carried out in 2020 amounted to 88.1 trillion soums ($8.1 billion).
