BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Uzbekistan Airways has signed a contract for the acquisition of the LET L-410 turboprop aircraf from Czech LET Aircraft Industries, Trend reports.
The LET L-410 aircraft are designed to carry up to 19 passengers and offer a flight range of up to 1,500 kilometers. It is planned that these aircraft will be deployed on ultra-short takeoff and landing runways, allowing for an expanded network of routes within the country, connecting cities such as Soh, Zarafshan, and Shakhrisabz.
Furthermore, once construction work is completed, Uzbekistan Airways will operate flights to Zamin using LET L-410 planes. In the near future, the restoration of regular flights between Tashkent and Andijan is also planned, made possible by the technical characteristics of the LET L-410 aircraft and the unique features of the runway at the international airport in Andijan.
This strategic move by Uzbekistan Airways to acquire LET L-410 aircraft is aimed at enhancing domestic connectivity, facilitating regional travel, and boosting tourism within the country. The new aircraft's capabilities, especially their suitability for short runways, will enable Uzbekistan Airways to provide efficient and comfortable air transportation services, expanding travel options for passengers and fostering economic development.
The agreement marks an important milestone in the aviation sector of Uzbekistan and underscores the commitment of Uzbekistan Airways to modernize its fleet and improve air connectivity within the country.
