TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 28. A total of 2,872 enterprises with Russian investment capital were registered in Uzbekistan as of the beginning of August 2023, Trend reports.
As per the Agency of Statistics under the President of Uzbekistan, Russia accounts for the largest number of enterprises with foreign investments in Uzbekistan. Following Russia, enterprises with foreign investments from China take the second place with 1,873 establishments.
Additionally, there are 1,736 enterprises with investment capital from Türkiye, 951 enterprises from Kazakhstan, and 694 enterprises from South Korea.
Russia had the highest investment share in Uzbekistan's economy at the end of 2022, with 20.3 percent of the total foreign investments in the country. China ranked second with a share of 16.4 percent, and Türkiye holds third place with 10.1 percent.
Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia amounted to over 60 trillion sum ($4.97 billion) from January through July 2023, increasing by more than 8 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
