Uzbekistan releases oil production data for past half-decade

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 19. The volume of oil production in Uzbekistan amounted to 770,100 tons in 2023, Trend reports.

As per data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this indicator has decreased by 2.2 percent over the previous year (787,800 tons in 2022).

The country’s production of oil was 774,000 tons in 2021 and 733,600 tons in 2020. In addition, this figure declined to 698,600 tons in 2019.

In total, the oil production volume reached 3.06 million tons in 2019-2023.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan produced 118.500 tons of oil from January through February 2024, which indicates a 6.9 percent decrease year-on-year (127,300 tons).

Furthermore, Uzbekistan's Ferghana Oil Refinery has started a large-scale program to increase the quality of the base oils produced.

The program envisages modernization of the atmospheric-vacuum column as well as repairs to production units manufacturing mineral base oils. The goal of the program is to bring the physical and chemical characteristics of the oils to the indicators meeting the best European standards.
