TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 23. Uzbekistan exported 5,600 tons of grapes for a total of $5.2 million from January through April 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that the recorded volume (tons) is 57.5 percent lower, compared to the same period last year (13,200 tons in January-April 2024).
At the same time, the volume of grape exports increased to 500 tons worth $500,000 in April 2024, compared to 5,100 tons worth $4.7 million of exported grapes from January through March 2024.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported 514,800 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $298.5 million from January through April 2024. This figure has increased by 43.3 percent (tons) compared to the same period last year (359,200 tons in January–April 2023).
Russia accounted for the largest volume of horticultural product exports from Uzbekistan, with a total volume of 134,900 tons worth $78.6 million. Pakistan ranked second with 83,900 tons of exports worth $72.2 million, followed by Kazakhstan with 139,000 tons of horticultural products exported worth $38.8 million from January through April 2024.
