TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 21. Uzbekistan exported gold worth $4.1 billion from January through May 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure has decreased by 4.6 percent compared to the same period last year ($4.3 billion in January–May 2023).
At the same time, the volume of exported gold from Uzbekistan reached $700 million in May 2024, compared to $800 million in April 2024.
Meanwhile, gold holds the country's majority of reserves, totaling $26.8 billion in May 2024. Gold reserves increased by 1.1 percent over the month ($26.5 billion in April 2024).
Furthermore, Uzbekistan exported gold worth $3.4 billion from January through April 2024. This is 13.3 percent more compared to the same period last year ($3 billion in January–April 2023).
Uzbekistan's gold exports amounted to $800 million in April 2024, which is less than 38.4 percent compared to $1.3 billion in March 2024.
