TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 1. Uzbekistan's volume of imports of industrial goods reached $2.8 billion from January through June 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 3.7 percent during the same period last year ($2.7 billion in January-June 2023).
In total, the specific weight in the overall volume of imports reached 15.1 percent.
Russia ($1 billion), China ($882.6 million), Kazakhstan ($320 million), Türkiye ($153.2 million), and South Korea ($74.8 million) were the top partners sending industrial products to Uzbekistan.
Imports of industrial goods are mostly composed of iron and steel ($1.2 billion), metal products ($397.6 million), textile yarn, textiles, ready-made items ($270.7 million), rubber products ($206.3 million), and others.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's volume of imports amounted to $18.8 billion from January through June 2024. This figure has increased by 10.5 percent compared to the same period in 2023 ($17 billion in January–June 2023).
In the structure of imports, machinery and transportation equipment accounted for 36.1 percent, industrial goods for 15.1 percent, and chemicals and similar products for 12.2 percent.
