TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 2. Uzbekistan produced 5.3 million tons of coal from January through September 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's statistic agency shows that coal production increased by 20.4 percent year-on-year (4.4 million tons from January through September 2023).
The country's coal production reached 1 million tons in September 2024, up from 900,000 tons in August.
To note, Uzbekistan will allow fuel, oil, and coal to pass through customs duty-free for two years and is also offering three-year revolving credits for coal imports.
Moreover, with an additional 900,000 tons coming from businesses, the country aims to produce eight million tons of coal this year and looks to increase coal production to 10 million tons by 2025.
