Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 July / Trend corr T.Jafarov/ "One cannot shut his eyes when the issue is long-term multibillion oil programs, furthermore if they are implemented in such a country as Iran which is rich in energy fields," President of France's large oil company Total Christophe de Margerie said to a French channel, Iran's news agency IRINN reported.

Christophe de Margerie said neither Iran nor Total has flat decisions in this respect. "Due to the political processes ongoing in the world, it is difficult to remain committed to obligations. Total does not intend to stop investing and to shut eyes on the region. The company is waiting for the end of the events. Total is not to leave Iran. At the moment, we will not implement our plans in this important gas region," he said.

On 9 July, de Margerie said to Financial Times that his company would not invest in Iran any more due to a dangerous political situation in the region.
