Journalist Executed in Iran

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 August / Trend / On 4 August, two people were executed in the Iranian city of Zahidan and one of these persons was Yagub Mehrnahad, culture figure and journalist, the Iranian agency ISNA reported.

According to the Iranian Revolutionary Court's sentence, Yagub Mehrnahad and Abdulnasir Tahiri were sentenced to death penalty with the charge of cooperation with Condullah terrorist group.

This sentence was implemented in the central prison of Zahidan city.

In April 2007, the Iranian police arrested this journalist together with several other civil activists with the charge of participation in armed conflict with Condullah group, which was leaded by Abdulmalik Rigin. He was sentenced to capital punishment in December 2007.
