An earthquake measuring 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Iran's southern provinces of Bushehr and Fars on Friday, the IRNA news agency reported. No casualties were reported yet.
The quake occured at about midnight at the border area between the two prrovinces, Xinhua reported.
Local reports said most people in the area were in shock.
