Iranian parliamentary representative: Iran reserves right to sue United States

Iran reserves the right to sue the United States for imposing unilateral sanctions against Tehran, Iranian Parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Committee representative Kazem Jalali was quoted as saying by IRNA.

"Although international organizations are biased while reviewing the claims filed by various countries, Iran reserves the right to file a complaint against the United States due to the unilateral sanctions," he said.

Regarding Washington's ban on aviation fuel sales to Iran, Jalali said the sanctions run counter to international law. Iran has every right to complain to international bodies, he stated.

Jalali stressed that the latest sanctions imposed by the U.N. Security Council against Iran have failed.

"The adoption of resolutions and sanctions by the United States and several Western countries is a tough measure, but one that will not undermine the iron will of the Iranian people," he said.
