Son of Iranian Council of Elders' member arrested
The son of a member of the Iranian Council of Elders (Hobregan) Ayatollah Abulgasim Hazali, Mehdi Hazali, was arrested, the Fars news agency reported with reference to the Tehran Court.
Mehdi Hazali was arrested last night. He is accused of spreading propaganda against the Iranian regime and spreading false information. In his blog, Hazali has repeatedly criticized Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
He accused Ahmadinejad that he is a Jew and hides this by changing his surname. Ayatollah Abulgasim Hazali is one of the authors of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Previously, he was a member of the constitutional supervision of Iran.
